CHURCH COMMUNITY MINISTRY

MEN’S MINISTRY

The Men’s Ministry meets weekly for Wednesday morning breakfast at 7:00 am at Otto's Brauhaus. The men who love to sing come together to form a Men’s Chorus that offers up songs of praise during worship and events. The men who enjoy sports come together as a team every summer to participate in the Annual Men’s Softball League and compete against teams from other churches.

WOMEN’S MINISTRY

The Women’s Ministry sponsors a Thursday Morning Bible Study  which meets at 9:45 am (listen!).  If you want to attend for the first time, please, REGISTER HERE or contact Mary Heerdt for more information. They also hold a Tuesday Evening Bible Study which meets the 4th Tuesday of every month at 7:30 pm. Contact Jana Dee Barnes for more information. The Encouragers meet the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm to pray for and minister to the church. The Women’s Ministry also hosts an Annual Women’s Retreat (listen to past speakers) and supports the Annual Women in the Word : A Workshop.

YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY

A ministry for young adults who are post-high school

Meet for weekly Bible discussions, prayer, dinner and fellowship on Fridays at 6 pm at the home of John & Susan O.

Go on quarterly outings (Skiing, camping, paint balling, rafting, etc.)

Seek ways to impact the community for Christ

YOUTH MINISTRY

The Youth Ministry is for grades 6 through 12 and includes Sunday School at 9:30 am in the Education Building, Sunday evening fellowship at 6:00 pm in the gymnasium, Wednesday night Bible Studies at 7:00 pm in the Education Building, and other special events.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

Sunday School classes for all ages.

Children's Worship during the 2nd half of Sunday worship for children ages 4 through 1st grades.

Activities such as Monthly Kid’s Club, Vacation Bible School,  and special fellowship and seasonal events such as the Christmas pageant and Easter celebration for grades K-5th.

The Calvary Safe Church Policy is in compliance with the PA Child Protective Services Law.

NURSERY MINISTRY

The Nursery Ministry is available during Sunday School and worship services for infants through 3 years.

Calvary is in compliance with the state’s Safe Church Policy.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH MINISTRY

THE GROVE

The Grove exists to celebrate the arts by  giving a platform to our community artists to share their work and creating a forum to examine the religious and philosophical implications of the arts.

PICK-UP BASKETBALL

On the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month from 3 - 5 pm, several members of our church (young and old) gather together to exercise their bodies and develop relationships with the people of our community by playing several games of pick-up basketball. Anyone can come out and participate.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Each Summer we joyfully and eagerly organize, prepare, and hold a Vacation Bible School for the children of our community (K-6th) filled with singing, dancing, crafts, games and yes, learning about Jesus Christ and what he means for our life on earth and in heaven.

HOME BIBLE STUDIES

Home Bible Studies are important to the life of Calvary not only as a way to study the Scriptures together, but also to enjoy each others fellowship, to unite together in prayer, and to encourage one another in our Christian walk.

Held in the homes of our members throughout the region.

Each home group addresses a different subject of study.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Classes are offered for children, youth, and adults on Sundays at 9:30 am September thru July.

We cover a wide range of subjects from the Bible and life.

Nursery is provided.

WOMEN IN THE WORD : A WORKSHOP

Each year, the women of Calvary work together to help organize and host a workshop dedicated to equipping women to better understand and follow the Word of God.

BLUE HOUSE VESPERS

Each 3rd Sunday of the month at 4:00 PM, we gather at the Blue House -- Pastor Jon's home on the church grounds -- for a brief service of Scripture reading, Prayer, and Singing, and then share dinner together afterwards.

DISCIPLES MAKING MINISTRY PRAYER

Different groups gather during the week to pray for the church and for the community, seeking that God raises up disciples within the church who can go into the community to help make disciples of all people..

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

TUESDAY MORNING MAINTENANCE CREW & BEAUTIFICATION MINISTRY

Each Tuesday morning, both men and women gather to help maintain and make beautiful the facilities and grounds of the church.

A group of men and women who enjoy music and praising God gather together to use their gifts to help lead the church community in song and praise each week.

HANDBELL MINISTRY

A group of men and women who enjoy making music with handbells gather to practice and fellowship.

The ministry presents special songs during worship and other occasions.

CHORAL MINISTRY

Various men and women who love to sing and lift up their voices to God gather together to practice and fellowship.

The ministry presents an offering of song during the Offertory on a monthly basis.
